Gideon's Bakehouse at Disney Springs | Review

We recently took a trip to Disney, and one of the “must do” things on my list was a visit to Gideon’s Bakehouse!

Gideon’s Bakehouse is a speciality bakery with two locations- one at Disney Springs, and the original location at the East End Market in Orlando.

Every time I saw someone online ask what the TOP places to visit at Disney Springs are, comments would flood in about Gideon’s Bakehouse.

When we got to Disney Springs that morning, we used the Disney app to guide us to Gideon’s. As expected, the line was already wrapped aroung the building. Two Gideon’s employees were outside managing the line, and told us it would be a 40 minute wait. After coming this far, we didn’t mind waiting.

The line is also against a building that has lots of places to sit, so if that is a concern of yours, worry not. I’ve read online that if the line gets to a certain length, they will open a virtual queue and give you a time slot to come back later.

We were given a card with February’s specials on it. I already knew going into this that I wanted their original chocolate chip cookie. The cookies are $6 each, and HUGE (almost half a pound.) We decided to get three so we could try different flavours.

I chose chocolate chip, Mason chose cookies and cream, and Kris got Peanut Butter Crunch.

We LOVED the fun theming when we finally got inside. Gideon’s has a dark gothic bookshop vibe, with fake falling over bookshelves and fun little oddeties everywhere.

It was a chilly morning, so we stopped at a store in Disney Springs to grab Mason a sweater. As you can see by the sign, this Bakehouse is not reccommended if you have allergies, or require vegan options.

We came here only intending to get cookies and cold brew, but when we saw the cakes, we KNEW we had to try a slice. We got the banana cake, and it was AMAZING. I still think about this cake, and would love to try and recreate it at home.

Another famous must-try from Gideon’s is their peanut butter cold brew! So, of course we had to get one to try. It was amazing, and totally lived up to the hype.

We were so excited to try everything that I forgot to get a picture of all the cookies in the box, but here is the chocolate chip. It was 10000% worth the wait. These cookies and cake slices are so huge that we had a ton left over for a late night snack, and breakfast the next day.

If you’re heading to Disney Springs, you NEED to give Gideon’s Bakehouse a try! It’s worth the hype, and definitely worth a wait in line.
