5 Reasons To Do A Boudoir Session While You're Single

We’ve all seen brides-to-be getting boudoir photos done for their future spouse, or women getting photos done as a Valentine gift for their significant other- BUT why don’t we hear about more people getting them done JUST BECAUSE?

Up until recently, I was always afraid to show my body, so boudoir photos weren’t something that was on my radar. I was in a relationship for the last 10 years of my life, but we separated last year, and I told myself that maybe when I lose weight I’ll get boudoir photos done as a gift to myself. Maybe when I look a certain way I’ll do it. Maybe when I meet someone and start dating again I’ll do it. But then I was asked to do a session with the lovely Ashley Marie Creative Studios, and my perspective on boudoir photos changed.

Here are 5 reasons why YOU should get boudoir photos done while you’re single:

It’s A Confidence Booster

A break-up can leave your confidence shattered, and it takes time to build that back up again. Even if you’ve been single for a while and your break-up isn’t fresh, the dating world is rough and a confidence boost may be just what you need! A great photographer will make you feel beautiful both during the session and with the photos they take.

It’s Fun

I was nervous going into it, but once I put on my boudoir playlist, I felt more comfortable and had fun! If you’ve recently gone through a break-up, or feeling stuck in a rut, getting boudoir photos done is a fun experience that will boost not only your confidence, but your mood too.

It’s A Glamorous Experience

Who doesn’t need a little glam in their life? Getting boudoir photos done isn’t just a basic photo session, it’s an experience. A good photographer will make it an experience! We did my boudoir photos at the Radisson Hotel here in Fredericton, and it’s a really luxurious and beautiful location. The suite was huge, upscale and made a beautiful background for photos. Picture yourself dressed in beautiful lace lingerie strutting around a large luxurious hotel suite- hello.

It’s a Celebration of your body

You don’t need a significant other to celebrate your body- you can celebrate your body for YOU. Maybe you’re a mom who needs a reminder of how amazing your body is. Maybe a previous relationship has left you feeling like you aren’t good enough. Whatever the reason may be, you deserve to feel beautiful- and you don’t need to be with someone for that.

It’s a reminder of who you are and what you have to offer

Our bodies are OUR bodies, and we don’t need them to be “worthy” for anyone else- BUT sometimes it’s nice to have a reminder of how amazing our bodies really are. I’m the kind of person who won’t even wear a tank top in the Summer because I just don’t have the confidence to show my arms, but after my boudoir session I feel like maybe I WILL show my arms this Summer. If you’re single and looking for love, sometimes thoughts pop into your head that say “Maybe no one will ever want me”, or “Maybe they will take one look at me and not want to talk to me”- and seeing yourself in boudoir photos can change help that narrative.

If you’re single and NOT looking for love, it’s still nice to see your photos and remind yourself “Damn, I AM a baddie”- you know what I mean?
